Vera grew up in St. Petersburg where she formed her theatrical passions by helping, watching, and befriending the Russian Engineering Theater Akhe. After finishing school, Vera moved to Moscow and began studying at the Russian Institute of Theatrical Art GITIS. She studied under one of Russia’s most well known theater directors and artists, Dmitry Krymov. During her studies, Vera created and played in two performances with her classmates. They went on tour performing the plays in Estonia and Finland. She also participated in a creative residence at the Robert Wilson Center in New York City.
Vera was educated as a Theater Stage Designer and in her second year of study, at the age of 18, she became the stage designer of her first show. Vera has over 15 years of experience in her field, she has worked on over 30 musicals, dramas and children’s performances in several countries; such as Russia and Latvia. Three of these performances were specially both directed and designed by Vera for children between the ages of one and four.
She has worked as Production Designer for the photography of top fashion journals such as Vogue, Elle and Harper’s Bazaar; and the videography of commercials. Additionally, she has made artistic creations for street festivals and exhibitions.
Vera has always seen herself as an international professional, however the abundance of work and connections in Moscow, Russia had kept her there.
In February of 2022 the world saw the beginning of terrible hostilities being done onto Ukraine. Vera participated in anti-war protests in Russia which is now worthy of conviction and jail time in the country. Living in an aggressor country full of oppression and lacking freedom of speech became unacceptable to her. She decided to leave for Mexico. She remains there now where she is working and establishing international relations. She would love to share her projects, thoughts and visions of the world, with the world.
